We surprised our nephew at dinner here. There was a small group of us-7 in total. He chose the spot which is several miles out of Great Falls on the frontage road, not far from the feed lot, which may concern some. One of the things they do really well is their salad bar. Don't know where I have had better. It had all the usual required items as well as many different toppings. In addition, a warm bread drawer with different types dinner rolls. As well, a huge block of cheddar cheese. Love my breads and cheese.

Ha! This place is a joke. When we arrived they said it would be a 45 minutes wait or we could go sit in the bar which had open seating. We went and sat down in the bar. There were 8 tables with people in the bar and a few people waiting to order beers at the bar. 24 minutes later the bartender came over. We ordered drinks and it took 8 minutes for them to come - and she forgot the milk for our kid. We waited... and waited... and waited. We asked the bartender when she was running around. She said she was trying to get a waiter to come to the bar and there was nothing she could do. She was very rude and seemed very off put. After a total of 48 minutes had passed, we asked for plates to the salad bar since it was going to come with the meal we planned to order anyway. She gave them to us and we got salads. After eating and waiting 10 more minutes, I went to the front desk to get a pen. I figured we would write down our order and give it to the bartender to put in. Most of the tables had cleared out, none of which had been cleaned. 2 tables left and told her they were tired of waiting. While I was writing the order down she finally came back and said she had time and could take our order. The food was good but the service was so terrible I would have no desire to ever go back.

Dinner here was awesome. The rib eye steak was amazing. The prime rib was amazing. Jan and Tyrel were amazing as our waitstaff. It was very affordable. Plenty of options for dinner. We were practically thrown out of Jaker's, another restaurant by a rude cook. We ended up at Cattlemens and it was great thing after all. Cattlemens saved the day. I can't say enough food things about Cattlemens. The desserts were amazing as well. Three words: Chocolate Lava Cake. If there were more than 5 stars I would have rated this place higher.

Steaks good but not memorable. Decent salad bar. Had better in Kemmerer, Wy where although it was a small local place the steaks were like better.

The steaks are as tender as they come. Not the most seasoned but u can add that. The tomato soup is a must if available. It is outside of Great Falls, great location.

I stopped by while in Great Falls for business. The wait staff was VERY pleasant, as was the hostess/owner. The ribs were phenomenal and the full rack was HUGE. The dry-rub seasonings were top notch, and the ribs were perfectly done. The salad bar, in addition to fresh greens and vegetables, offered several pasta and variety salads that were homemade... the seafood salad was so good I had to get a container of it to take. They were also serving prime rib that looked very good. The Bloody Mary I had with dinner was made by knowledgeable bartender; the the ingredients were perfect. I can eat a lot of food, but I couldn't have eaten all that food in one sitting if my life depended on it. It was an easy 2 1/2 meals worth of quality food. I'm not the biggest fan of Great Falls, but at least I have something to be very excited about next time I go!

I'm an out-of-towner and relied on recommendations from the locals to decide on a steak place. All-in-all, the Cattlemen's Cut was in line with what people told me. Not great, not the best steak in town, but solid. Also, keep in mind that I was trying to get a Prime Rib dish but that sold out, which happened two other times that week at other places so Prime Rib is apparently very sought after in Great Falls. Maybe the Prime Rib is to die for, I wouldn't know. And, yes, I am bitter about that. Anyway, from the outside the place looks like a machine shop. It's cavernous on the inside and the atmosphere is, eh, forgettable. The service was fine. And I really do get the name of the place. It's literally across the street from the site of the regional cattle auctions and I have a theory in the works as to why it's busy and well-known. All of the people I talked to mentioned the great salad bar. I found it lacking. Not a lot of options. I dug the cheese wheel though. I ordered the biggest rib-eye they had and it was cooked to order and properly seasoned. The cut was of an expected, middling quality. I ate it all and I was happy. I couldn't tell you if it was overpriced or not because I'm from LA and everything outside of CA seems incredibly inexpensive. I'd potentially go back after I had a chance to try every other steak place in town for reference and perspective.

Great food. Huge portions. The steak that comes with the gorgonzola fettuccini has a great marinade. You do need a reservation on weekends and holidays, but most week nights you can walk in with out a big wait. There is a huge block of cheese in the salad bar you can just cut chunks off.

So, here we are in GF...and at the recommendation of a local after begging for something other than Chain options, we went here. SO given that GF isnt home to alot of fine dining and host to every chain known to exist in the western USA it was a decent experience. Pro's: The salad bar Portions...great! approaching too much side choice options which ranged from steamed veggies to numerous starches. Selection of seafood Selection of steaks Attentive staff Neither here nor there: Building is a metal-faced shed Gravel lot Off the beaten path but easily found and accessed Con's: You have to make a reservation! Widely recommended and attended by locals...busy every night! We had to sit in the bar which was just fine and much quieter surprisingly. Slow to be served but waitress was attentive Pretty pricey for mid-range food Beer selection, out of items listed on the menu (c'mon folks) Here is what we ate: 3- 16oz Rib-eyes---cooked to order 1.5 lbs King Crab--perfect 1-Sirloin--cooked to order I am still digesting some 12 hrs later, btw! Overall, I would go back after visiting the other two or three places that were recommended locally.

Service was good. Filet was cooked to my liking (just below medium). But something did not agree with my stomach the next day. Don't think it was the meat. Was probably the salad bar. I would go back again, but would avoid the salad bar.

This place came highly recommended by a hotel desk clerk. It is eight miles north of Great Falls and on a freeway frontage road adjacent to Interstate 15. The restaurant is in a building that looks like a prefab barn. Parking lot is gravel and mostly filled with pickup trucks. My expectations were pretty high given the recommendation and that so many local ranchers were here on a week night. We were seated right away, but we had to wait a while to be offered drinks. We had to wait a while for them to be delivered. But we did have plenty of time to look over the impressive menu selections, which featured a ton of seafood as well as steak. With an entree there is a choice of soup or salad bar. I chose the salad bar which was adequate. I think the dinner experience would have been better if we had a choice of salads to be served at our table. All four of us had steak. Three were delivered at the same time but there was a five minute wait for the fourth to be delivered. This of course led to the ritualistic "please go ahead and start" and the three of us saying "no, we'll wait...yours should be coming soon..." Fortunately the steaks are served on very hot plates so when we were finally able to begin our food wasn't cold I had the 16 oz. boneless rib-eye steak, medium. It was cooked just as I ordered. Flavor and meat quality was fair. I've had much better at many other places. Our other restaurant choice that evening was Borries in Black Eagle. It would have been a shorter drive with probably a better dining experience.

Lets just say the last time I ate here everyone in my party got VERY sick. As in we couldn't even make it out of the restaurant sick, and we had to make a couple pit stops on the way back home... maybe it was because block of cheese that sits out all night, but whatever it was i wont be back. Ever.

Service was great, salad bar great. The chef for the night had no idea how to cook a steak. All six of us had to return the steaks as they were all undercooked. I know what a medium steak looks like! The broccoli was bearly blanched. The chef, so to speak, came out to apologize, but there was no compensation for our lack of dining pleasure. I will never return.

Went here on New Year's Eve, no reservations but got a table in under 5 minutes. It was packed, but our service was very good. Waitress was very helpful and attentive, as were the other staff. What you have to remember is that this is in Great Falls. The salad bar is the best in town, and the steaks are great.

The parking was on a dirt lot with lots of gravel. Decent steak, decent prices.. nothing spectacular. Reasonable quality with reasonable prices. This isn't Ruth Chris or Morton's. The place was PACKED on a weekday evening. Overall a decent meal.. but nothing mind blowing.
